Windows Remote Desktop function allows you to control your computer through a remote device, it is very common in workplace and for some professional users. The default port number of Remote Desktop Connections is 3389. We can modify the port number to increase the security in 5 simple steps.

The following steps are based on Windows 7 Professional.

Step 1: Start  --> Run (WIN + R)
Step 2: Type "regedit" in Run --> Press "OK"

Step 3: The Registry Editor should pop up--> Go to the following Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

Step 4: Right Click--> Modify -->Choose "Decimal"-->Set your own Port number:

Step 5: Press "OK" --> Close Registry Editor --> Restart your computer

If you have any ideas, please leave a message to me.
