5 things to do to prepare yourself to work in IT industry.



If you have considered to work in the IT field, there are something I recommend you to do to prepare yourself to be ready and have a better prospect.

 1. Learn about fundamental knowledge

As a IT workers, you cannot say you do not know how to solve basic problems or don't know some basic knowledge. So it is essential for you to learn them. You should have basic knowledge in software and hardware component in Personal Computer, basic networking concepts, etc. And you should have basic problem solving skills and understanding of the industry.  

2. Plan you career path

This is extremely important, you should set a career path and equip yourself to achieve you career goal. If you would like to become a web programmer, you should learn about programming languages, web technology, etc. And if you want to become a system administrator, you will need to have deep understanding about OS.

3. Read more

No matter which direction you plan to work for, you need to have wide range of knowledge. That's why you should read more. You have to read more about technologies, news related to IT, current event happening around the whole world, etc. you should not read only IT, you should have wide range of knowledge and understanding.

4. Learn a programming language

To work in IT, you should learn at least 1 programming language. This can help you understand the world of IT. And you will have basic concept about how IT staff works. This can help you to learn other skill and technologies, and this is one of the most valuable skill of IT personnel.

5. Try different technologies

Sometimes, only reading is not enough, you have to try on the technology or skills. Get use of your resources, try as much as you can, you will find this really helpful when you actually face the same problem in the workplace.

To conclude, you should prepare yourself before truly work in the workplace. More important, you will confirm yourself if you are suitable to work in IT field or not.
